More Information

Green Superfoods is an antioxidant-rich combination of more than a dozen fruits, vegetables, and greens with over 90% organic certified ingredients and a digestive enzyme/prebiotic blend.  Some of the fruits and vegetables included are cranberries, blueberries, raspberry, beets, collards, spinach, broccoli sprouts, cauliflower sprouts, and kale.  What is particularly unique about this blend is that is does not contain any fillers or bulking agents like pectin, rice bran, or whole grasses.

The antioxidant power found in this blend comes from phytonutrients, compounds found in plants that may reduce the cellular damage caused by free radicals (also called oxidative stress), which can lead to premature aging and chronic illness.  For instance, cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and collard greens (all included in this product) have a high content of sulfur-containing compounds called glucosinolates.  It has been shown that the metabolic products of glucosinolates may help eliminate carcinogens before they have the chance to damage DNA(1).

Long-term exposure to toxins (environmental pollutants, carcinogens, preservatives, pesticides, and heavy metals – just to name a few) can affect metabolism, behavior, the immune system, and digestion.  These toxins can be stored and accumulate in the body’s tissues and although the body has a built in system for removing these toxins, primarily through the liver, sometimes this system can become overloaded.  This is when detoxing can help restore balance.
