Sustained Energy Base

$26.00

This pre-mix offers steady fuel to stave off fatigue. Quercetin and D-ribose act synergistically to up the number of energy molecules your cells are able to churn out, while L-carnitine taps into fat stores, shuttling these molecules into cells to be used as fuel. A low level of caffeine (the equivalent of about one cup of coffee) stimulates your body and mind, and a B-vitamin complex helps you to better turn food into fuel.

More Information

Unlike traditional energy drinks, high in sugar and overloaded with caffeine, ThinkitDrinkit’s Sustained Energy blend offers ingredients that target energy at the cellular level, all contributing to the production of the body’s energy “currency” ATP (adenosine triphosphate).  You may remember from high school Biology class that most ATP molecules are produced by organelles (specialized structures within cells) called mitochondria.

Quercetin, is a flavonoid (a kind of antioxidant) found in many fruits and vegetables.  In addition to fighting the harmful effects of free radicals, quercetin has been shown to increase the number of mitochondria in cells, meaning a higher capacity for energy output primarily in brain and muscle cells.  D-Ribose is one of the essential building blocks mitochondria need in order to synthesize ATP.  Since D-Ribose is ATP’s structural foundation, if your cells don’t have enough ribose, they can’t produce enough ATP to meet energy demands.  In the body, ribose is manufactured very slowly and it cannot be stored in cells and tissues, so supplementing can help ensure that ribose levels stay high.

L-carnitine shuttles long-chain fatty acids across the inner-mitochondrial membrane, so they can be broken down into two carbon chains (acetyl) within a process referred to as β-oxidation. Ultimately these two carbon chains are used for the generation of energy (ATP).

The six true B-vitamins found in this blend help to convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose), which is used in the ATP synthesis process. These B vitamins, often referred to as ‘B complex vitamins’, also help the body to metabolize fats and protein.  Inositol, although not a true B vitamin, is sometimes referred to as “B8”, and is actually a carbohydrate with a sugar-like taste.  It modulates the nervous system, by improving the communication between neurotransmitters (chemicals that send messages via electric pulses between nerve cells) which increases cognitive ability.  Helping you to maintain focus throughout the day, Inositol adds mental edge to this Sustained Energy blend

*For your reference:  This blend contains 100 mg of caffeine. One cup (8 oz.) of home-brewed coffee contains about 100 mg of caffeine.
